PSC Chairman Mobasser Monem resigns

Prof Mobasser Monem has resigned as chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), a PSC official confirmed to the Daily Sun on Tuesday.

The official said Prof Monem submitted his resignation letter on Tuesday afternoon.

He took charge as PSC chairman in October 2024, following the July uprising. After the interim government assumed office, then PSC chairman Md Sohorab Hossain and 12 members of the commission resigned.

The government subsequently appointed Prof Mobasser Monem, a professor of Public Administration at the University of Dhaka, as chairman of the PSC.
