Youth hacked to death in Khulna

A young man was brutally hacked to death in Rupsha upazila of Khulna on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Joy Dhali, son of Aktar Dhali of the area.

The incident took place at around 9:30pm in the Durjani Mahal Shahid Mor area, local residents said.

According to locals, Joy was attacked with sharp weapons while he was walking along the road. The attackers allegedly hacked him indiscriminately before leaving him dead by the roadside.

Several injuries were reportedly found on different parts of his body, with multiple wounds particularly visible on his neck and legs.

The killing triggered panic in the area. However, the motive for the attack and the identities of those responsible were not immediately known.

Abdur Razzak Mir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rupsha Police Station, said police were working to identify those involved and uncover clues to the murder.
