AI-based automatic traffic fines to launch on Dhaka-Ctg highway on Tuesday

The Highway Police are set to roll out the AI camera-based automatic fine system for traffic violations on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway on Tuesday, it said in a press release on Saturday.

The automatic traffic system will be used to levy fines for overspeeding, irregular parking and wrong way driving, the High Police added in the release.

Vehicle owners will get automatic SMS alerts of traffic violation cases on their registered mobile numbers, it added.

After getting case-related info on their mobile phones, the vehicle owners can pay fines using their mobile financial service accounts.

The artificial intelligence-based system will speed up traffic violation identification and fine collection processes, while making the overall penalty system transparent, accurate, quick and efficient, the Highway Police noted.
