Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said that the answer scripts of students who failed the SSC and equivalent examinations will be fully rechecked if they apply for review.
He made the remarks while announcing the results of the SSC and equivalent examinations at a press conference held at the Ministry of Education’s conference room at around 10:00am on Monday (10 August).
The education minister said students sometimes fail to achieve the results they had expected despite preparing well for the examinations. He noted that the 1998 Board Act did not provide for answer-script review, but the system has since been changed.
“Those who apply for rechecking will have their answer scripts reviewed in full. If any errors or discrepancies are found, necessary action will be taken,” he said.
The results of this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations have been published, with 1,138,877 students passing and 690,608 failing.
The average pass rate across the 11 education boards stood at 62.25%, down from 68.45% last year, marking a decline of 6.2 percentage points.
