Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) successfully foiled an attempt by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to push eight unidentified individuals illegally into Bangladesh along the Kushtia border on Friday morning.
Members of Char Meghna Camp under the 146 BSF Battalion attempted to force eight individuals — including two men, four women, and two transgender persons — to cross into Bangladesh by swimming across a river near border pillar 152/1-S under the Joypur BOP of the 47 BGB Battalion at approximately 5:10am on 24 July.
A BGB patrol team immediately detected the activity and blocked the individuals from entering Bangladeshi territory. Confronted by the firm stance of the BGB, the individuals were forced to swim back into Indian territory, successfully neutralizing the push-in attempt.
The BGB remains vigilant and prepared to prevent any illegal intrusion and border law violations. The paramilitary force continues to discharge its duties with professionalism and responsibility to ensure border security and maintain peace along the frontier.
