A Dhaka court on Monday placed Mohammad Mamun Hossain, 26,
on a three-day remand over allegations of having links with an extremist
organisation.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana granted the

Earlier, the investigation officer of the case,
Sub-Inspector Md Matiur Rahman Molla of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational
Crime (CTTC) unit of police, produced Mamun before the court and sought a
seven-day remand for the accused.
Prior to this, Mamun was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal

arrested under Section 54 of the Code of Criminal Procedure over his alleged
involvement with an extremist organisation.
According to the remand petition, custodial interrogation
and examination of his digital devices are required to identify his possible
associates, source of funds, purpose of his foreign travel and any possible
plans for subversive activities.
Several cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act had previously
been filed against the accused with Tejgaon Industrial Area and Gandaria police
stations, according to documents.
