4 more die from measles symptoms

Four more children died from measles-related symptoms in the 24 hours till 8am on Saturday morning, taking the total death toll to 784 since 15 March.

As many as 773 children were diagnosed with measles and related symptoms over the same period. Among them 649 were hospitalised and 498 others were released from hospitals.

Since 15 March, the DGHS has recorded 116,710 suspected measles cases and 14,318 confirmed cases. Furthermore, 99,249 patients were hospitalised over the same period, and among them 95,529 have been discharged following recovery.

Since 15 March, 95 children have died from confirmed measles infection and 689 others with suspected measles or measles-like symptoms.
