students left the Parliament area around 9:30pm on Tuesday, an hour after
enforcing a blockade, after giving the government until the morning to defer
the next day’s exam.
If the postponement is not announced, they would stage a “Long March to the Shikhha Bhaban” after Wednesday’s exam ends, they said.
Traffic returned to normal after the students left the Manik Mia Avenue, said Md Fazlul Karim, additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Tejgaon Division.
The students could not study in preparation for Wednesday’s examination due to their nearly 10-hour demonstrations across the country on Tuesday, and are unable to take part in the test, some of the protesters have claimed.
Some reports claimed the students were also determined to ensure the resignation of the education minister.
