Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu said on Tuesday that allegations of irregularities and corruption in rural infrastructure renovation and development projects implemented during the previous government's tenure are under investigation.
He made the statement in parliament while
responding to a written question from ruling party MP Mostafizur Rahman Babul
of Jamalpur-3.
The minister said investigations are being
conducted into alleged irregularities and corruption involving allocations
under the Test Relief (TR), Kabita (Food for Work) and Kabikha (Cash for Work)
programmes carried out in the name of rural infrastructure development during the
previous government's rule.
He added that legal and administrative action
would be taken if the allegations are proven through the investigation.
