A Dhaka court is set to deliver its verdict on Wednesday in a case filed against cricketer Nasir Hossain and his wife, Tamima Sultana Tammi, over allegations of adultery and fraud.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam will pronounce the verdict, court sources said.
On 6 May, the court set 10 June for delivering the verdict after concluding arguments in the case.
According to case documents, Tamima married the plaintiff, Rakib, in 2011, and the couple has a daughter. The case alleges that she later married Nasir in 2020 while her first marriage was still valid.
Rakib filed the case in February 2021 after seeing photos of Nasir and Tamima’s wedding online.
The Police Bureau of Investigation submitted its report on 30 September 2021, finding the accused culpable.
The court framed charges in 2022, and the trial began in 2023. A total of 10 witnesses testified during the proceedings.
