Jatiya Press Club mourns death of Kader Gani’s brother

The Jatiya Press Club has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Ahmed Gani Chowdhury, elder brother of its executive committee member and Bangladesh Federal Journalists Union (BFUJ) Secretary General Kader Gani Chowdhury.

Press Club President Hasan Hafiz and General Secretary Ayub Bhuiyan conveyed condolences on behalf of the management committee, praying for the eternal peace of the deceased and expressing sympathy to the bereaved family, said a press release.

Ahmed Gani Chowdhury died at around 10:43am on Friday while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital. He was 66.

He left behind his wife, three sons, a daughter, and a host of relatives, friends and well-wishers.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held at 11am on Saturday at the Shahi Maidan of Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif in Fatikchhari upazila of Chattogram. He will later be laid to rest at the family graveyard, according to the statement.
