Cabinet congratulates Khalilur Rahman on election as UNGA president

The cabinet on Thursday congratulated Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman on his election as President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The congratulatory message was conveyed during a cabinet meeting held at the Public Administration Hall of the Cabinet Division at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

The meeting began at 7pm under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

During the meeting, it was noted that the election of Dr Khalilur Rahman as UNGA president reflects Bangladesh’s growing prestige on the global stage, diplomatic capability and international confidence in the country’s commitment to multilateral engagement.

Cabinet members and relevant secretaries attended the meeting.
