Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route suspended

Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route were suspended today due to a nor'wester and heavy rain, according to sources at Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC).

BIWTC Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager Abdus Salam said ferry movement on the route has remained suspended since 11:20am as the nor'wester swept across the Padma and Jamuna river routes.

The sources also said all engine-driven boats, speedboats and launches have remained suspended due to the rough weather.
