The Russian House in Bangladesh has concluded its week-long film festival titled “Frames of Memory: From Moscow to Bangladesh”, drawing strong engagement from university students, academics and cinema enthusiasts across the country.
Launched on 14 May to mark the 81st
anniversary of the Victory Day of the Great Patriotic War, the festival ended
on Wednesday after screenings at multiple venues, including Dhaka and outside
the capital.
Alongside daily screenings at the Russian House auditorium in Dhaka, special shows were organised at Cox’s Bazar International University (CBIU) and Daffodil International University (DIU), extending the festival’s reach beyond the capital.

The audience was presented with a selection
of classic Soviet films, including Ballad of a Soldier, Come and See, Ivan’s
Childhood, They Fought for Their Country and The Cranes Are Flying.
Organisers said each venue turned into a cultural
platform where young viewers engaged with themes of war, resilience, peace and
cinematic storytelling rooted in historical experience.
The Russian House in Bangladesh expressed
gratitude to its partner universities for their cooperation in hosting the
screenings and facilitating cultural exchange.
