The
government will work with REHAB, the apex trade body for real estate companies,
in building a modern, sustainable, affordable and people-friendly housing
sector in the country, said State Minister for Housing and Public Works Zakaria
Taher Shuman.
The state
minister made the remark during a courtesy meeting with REHAB leaders at the
ministry office in the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Zakaria
particularly stressed extending the government’s policy support to the sectoral
companies for ensuring affordable and sustainable housing solutions for the common
people.
REHAB
President Ali Afzal called for long-term policy support, and increasing easy
loans for advancing the sector in the desired manner.
He
highlighted that despite playing a vital role in the national economy, the
sector currently faces numerous policy hurdles, high construction costs and shortages
in financial options.
He should
effective remedial measures from the government to accelerate the sector’s
activities, and to make housing options affordable.
