BRTA publishes new bus fare chart

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has published a revised fare chart for buses and minibuses operating on inter-district and long-distance routes across the country.

The government raised bus fares by 11 paisa per kilometre for all types of buses on Thursday due to an increase in diesel prices. The revised fares came into effect on the same day.

The updated fare chart was published on the BRTA website on Saturday.

According to the new list, separate fare charts have been set for each route in both city and long-distance services. For city buses in the capital, the minimum fare has been fixed at Tk10.

Gabtoli routes

Under this route, the fare for a 51-seat bus from Dhaka to Panchagarh has been fixed at Tk1,005, while the fare for a 40-seat bus stands at Tk1,281.

On the Rangpur route, fares have been set at Tk751 for 51-seat buses and Tk911 for 40-seat buses. For Dinajpur, fares are Tk974 (51-seat) and Tk1,241 (40-seat).

From Gabtoli to Jhenaidah, fares have been set at Tk501 for 51-seat buses and Tk639 for 40-seat buses. 

On the Rajshahi route, fares are Tk777 (51-seat) and Tk991 (40-seat). For Meherpur, fares are Tk776 (51-seat) and Tk981 (40-seat).

Sayedabad routes

On the Dhaka–Chattogram route, the fare for a 51-seat bus has been fixed at Tk704, while a 40-seat bus will cost Tk552. From Sayedabad to Cox’s Bazar, fares are Tk900 (51-seat) and Tk1,147 (40-seat).

On the Sylhet route, fares are Tk580 (51-seat) and Tk740 (40-seat).

For Barishal, fares have been set at Tk464 (51-seat) and Tk592 (40-seat). On the Khulna route, fares are Tk541 (51-seat) and Tk690 (40-seat).

Meanwhile, on the longest route from Sayedabad to Teknaf, fares have been fixed at Tk1,047 for 51-seat buses and Tk1,335 for 40-seat buses.

Mohakhali routes

From Mohakhali to Mymensingh, fares are Tk294 (51-seat) and Tk375 (40-seat).

On the Jamalpur route, fares are Tk386 (51-seat) and Tk492 (40-seat).

For Sherpur, fares have been set at Tk421 (51-seat) and Tk537 (40-seat). On the Kishoreganj route, fares are Tk401 (51-seat) and Tk511 (40-seat).
