UGC member Prof Tanzimuddin Khan resigns

University Grants Commission (UGC) member Professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan has resigned from his post.

He submitted his resignation letter to the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education on Thursday.

Officials at the ministry and the UGC confirmed the development.

Tanzimuddin Khan, a professor of International Relation Department at Dhaka University, was appointed as a UGC member on 12 September 2024.

During his tenure, he faced criticism over alleged irregularities in different areas, including the much-discussed Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) project.
