Poet, writer, and journalist Billal Bin Quasem Sohel has rejoined the Islamic Foundation as its Public Relations Officer. His return has sparked fresh discussions in both administrative and literary circles.

Given his long professional experience, multidimensional talent, and socially conscious outlook, his reappointment is being seen as highly significant by concerned quarters.

Many believe that, as a creative literary figure and a skilled media professional, his presence will bring new momentum and vitality to the activities of the Islamic Foundation.

Billal Bin Quasem is a well-known name in Bangla literature. He has established a distinct voice across poetry, essays, and novels. His writings deeply reflect social realities, human emotions, love and separation, patriotism, and the crises of contemporary times.

His acclaimed poetry collection “Onuronon” has been widely appreciated by readers. The book captures the subtle emotions of life in a poetic language that both engages the mind and stirs the heart.

Similarly, his novel “Dure Kothay” has attracted readers by portraying the multifaceted realities of contemporary society, the complexities of relationships, and the struggles of life. The novel has been praised for its realism and depth.

Billal Bin Quasem began his professional career in 2002 through journalism and writing. Over the years, he has worked with numerous national dailies, weeklies, and electronic media outlets. His journalism has been investigative, courageous, and committed to truth.

His reports and analyses on important social, political, and cultural issues have received significant attention from readers. He has not limited himself to reporting news; rather, he has played an important role in raising public awareness by highlighting social irregularities.

Since 2012, he has been associated with the Islamic Foundation, where he has carried out administrative responsibilities alongside contributing to religious and social development activities. His experience in this institution has further matured his perspective, which is also reflected in his writings.

As a Public Relations Officer, his responsibilities include presenting the organization’s activities to the public, promoting religious and social programs, and maintaining effective communication with the media. In addition, he has served as Deputy Director of the ICT Division, Deputy Director of the Publication Division, and Deputy Director of the Narail and Jessore District Offices.

Officials expect that his return will strengthen the flow of information, public engagement, and the institutional image of the Islamic Foundation.

His literary works clearly reflect contemporary society, politics, and culture. His essays and research-based writings analyze social inconsistencies, changes, and potential developments. He believes that literature is not merely a source of entertainment—it is a powerful tool for social change.

In his personal life, he comes from a well-known family. He is the second among three brothers and two sisters. His elder brother, Mohammad Bin Quasem Jewel, is a prominent social worker and a first-class contractor based in Dhaka. His younger brother, Elias Bin Quasem Russell, serves as the Head of Production in the News and Current Affairs Department of a private television channel. His younger sister, Farhana Afroze, is a senior officer in a private bank.

He is married and the father of a daughter named Fariha Jahin. His father, Bir Muktijoddha Md. Abul Quasem, was an officer in the Bangladesh Air Force and passed away in 1990. His mother, Mrs. Gulshan Ara Begum Lily, is a caring homemaker and a devoted mother.

Colleagues and well-wishers believe that his experience, integrity, and creativity will add a new dimension to the activities of the Islamic Foundation. They particularly expect his role to be significant in areas such as religious education, social awareness, and public engagement initiatives.

At the same time, his active presence in the literary field is expected to continue. It is জানা গেছে that he is already planning new poetry collections, essays, and research works.

Combining the identities of poet, writer, journalist, and administrative officer, Billal Bin Quasem stands out as a unique personality.
