Measles, symptoms kill 3 more children

Three more children died from measles and related symptoms in the 24 hours till Monday morning, taking the total death toll to 220 since 15 March.

During 8am Sunday-8am Monday, one child died from confirmed measles diagnosis in Dhaka division, and two more children from symptoms in Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Over the same period, 174 children were diagnosed with confirmed measles, and 1,170 other children with measles-like symptoms. Among the cases with symptoms, 846 were admitted to hospitals, including 382 in Dhaka division alone, accounting for over 45% of the symptom-related countrywide hospitalisations.

Since 15 March, 37 children have died from measles and 183 others with symptoms.
