Internet services in Bangladesh may experience slow speeds or partial disruption for three days from Thursday night due to maintenance work on the country’s second submarine cable.
According
to a press release issued by Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC, maintenance on
the Kuakata-based second submarine cable (SEA-ME-WE-5) will be carried out from
10pm on 9 April to 6am on 13 April.
During
this period, circuits connected to Singapore will be temporarily affected,
which may result in slower internet speeds or partial service interruptions
across the country.
However,
circuits linked through the country’s first submarine cable (SEA-ME-WE-4) in
Cox’s Bazar will remain operational, the release added.
