Flydubai, a UAE government-owned airline, resumed operation
on the Chattogram-Dubai route after 19 months on Wednesday.
Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport Spokesperson
Engineer Ibrahim Khalil informed that Flydubai last operated its international
flight from Chattogram airport on 31 August in 2024.
Since then, its operation remained suspended for various
limitations, he said.
Owing to the sincere efforts of the Civil Aviation Authority
of Bangladesh and the airport authority, the flight operation resumed on
Wednesday, said Ibrahim.
The airline will now operate one arrival and one departure
flight on the route regularly every day, he said.
On the first day of resumption on Wednesday, flight FZ563
landed at the Chattogram airport from Dubai at 8:45am and the flight FZ564 departed
for Dubai at 9:45am, the spokesperson said.
With this, the total number of international flights
operating to and from the Chattogram airport will increase by 14 per week, he
added.
