Gazette issued appointing ministers, state ministers

The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification appointing the prime minister and other members of the new cabinet late Tuesday night.

The notification formalised the appointments following the swearing-in ceremony held Tuesday afternoon at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and other cabinet members took the oath at the event.

The new cabinet includes 49 ministers and state ministers. Of them, 25 will serve as full ministers and 24 as state ministers.

Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani signed the notification. The document states that the president of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh appointed the listed individuals as ministers and state ministers on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.

The government formed the cabinet after the recent parliamentary election and moved swiftly to complete the constitutional formalities through the gazette notification.
