The oath-taking ceremony of the 13th National Parliament Election will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday. Along with the newly-elected Members of Parliament, advisers of the interim government will also be present.
However, since the election, there has been much discussion on social media that the advisers would leave the country.
Press Secretary Shafiqul Islam clarified this matter to the media. He described the advisers of the interim government as “proud sons of the country.”
Speaking at a briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy on Monday, the Press Secretary said, “They are still in the country and will participate in the oath-taking ceremony of the new government.”
Shafiqul Islam said, “The advisers will be present on the day of the oath. They will attend and travel to the ceremony in flag-bearing cars. After the ceremony, the same cars will drop them at their residences, but the cars will no longer carry flags.”
Meanwhile, among the advisers, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb has returned to his previous residence. In a Facebook post, he claimed that he left Dhaka after being ‘properly’ relieved from his workplace.
No confirmed information has been received that any other adviser has left the country.
