MPs-elect will take oath as members of Constitution reform council on Tuesday: Cabinet secy

The lawmakers-elect will take two oaths on Tuesday morning for joining the National Parliament and the Constitution Reform Council, said Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani on Monday.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Cabinet members will take oath, Nasimul Gani said at the Secretariat a few hours after the interim government appointed him as the Cabinet Secretary.

The Constitution Reform Council is set to work on implementing July Charter provisions which require Constitutional amendments. The charter includes crucial state reform measures backed by political parties.

A referendum on the charter implementation was held simultaneously with the National Election on 12 February. A large majority backed the July Charter’s implementation.
