Govt to send letter to UN on Sunday seeking support for Hadi murder probe

The government remains committed to ensuring fair trial for the murder, according to a statement issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

In the statement, the government also urged every citizen of the country to show the highest responsibility, remain patient and extend support for ensuring a peaceful and inclusive general election on 12 February.

The international community is now following the developments in Bangladesh ahead of the elections, and around 18 crore people are also eagerly waiting for the election day, the statement noted.

A large number of foreign election observers and journalists are now staying in Bangladesh, the statement said, adding next week’s election would be highly significant for the nation. The chance for casting vote in a fair environment is the achievement of a long struggle, sacrifice and bloodshed, it said.
