Tasnim Jara accuses rivals of tearing down campaign banners

Independent candidate Tasnim Jara, contesting the Dhaka-9 constituency in the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections, on Tuesday alleged that her election campaign banners were torn down.

She made the allegation in a Facebook post, urging people to abandon the culture of tearing down opponents’ banners.

She wrote in her Facebook post that, “The local people can now see whose banners have been put up in the places where ours used to be.”

Stating that they are taking steps to put up new banners, she wrote, “We are taking steps to put up banners again in line with the Election Commission’s guidelines.”

Hinting at her electoral rivals, she added, “You are talking about honest politics to the people. But honest politics cannot be practiced alone—party leaders and activists must also be honest. Please rein in your leaders and activists.”
