A Dhaka court on Monday granted a four-day remand to Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam, son of Syed Abed Ali Jibon, the driver of a former PSC chairman who is an accused in the PSC question paper leak scandal, in a case filed over amassing illegal wealth.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Sabbir Faiz passed the order following a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) seeking a seven-day remand.
On 5 January last year, ACC Deputy Assistant Director Zakir Hossain filed the case against Siam. The case alleges that he amassed illegal assets worth Tk 3.30 crore beyond known sources of income.
Earlier, on 20 January this year, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) said it had arrested Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam.
