Temperature drops to 7°C in Rajshahi, cold wind continues

Rajshahi is shivering under the country’s lowest temperature. The temperature dropped to 7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday (6 January) at 6am. 

Although the sky was not heavily foggy, the intensity of winter has increased due to the bone-chilling cold wind.

On Monday (5 January), the minimum temperature was 10 degrees and the maximum temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius. There was not a large difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures—only about 8.5 degrees. 

Besides the small gap between day and night temperatures, the drop in the minimum temperature alone has intensified the cold. Although sunrise was expected at 6:47am, the sun was not visible even until 10am.

Due to the cold, daily life has become somewhat stagnant. The situation is the same everywhere across the district, both in the city and in rural areas. 

According to the Meteorological Office, the morning humidity was 100 percent, causing severe cold sensations to spread throughout the body with the icy wind. Day laborers and low-income working people are suffering the most.
