Pakistan parliament speaker to join Khaleda’s funeral

Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq will join the funeral prayers for Bangladesh's former prime minister Khaleda Zia in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, confirmed the development in his official “X” handle on Tuesday.

Ishaq Dar himself is expected join the funeral prayers or Namaz-e-Janaza which will be held at the Bangladesh National Parliament’s South Plaza around 2pm on Wednesday.

Former three-time prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia breathed her last at the Evercare Hospital around 6am on Tuesday. She was admitted to the hospital on November 23 with multiple health complications including infections in the heart and lungs.
