Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Shafiqul Alam has said that the government will take strict action against those attempting to sabotage the elections with unethical demands.
He made the remarks on Friday after visiting the Sureshwar Darbar in Naria, Shariatpur, while responding to questions from journalists.
Shafiqul Alam also said that no power in the world can disrupt the elections.
“The people of the country are eagerly waiting for the vote. There is no force in the world that can sabotage the elections,” the Press Secretary said.
Answering another question, he added, “Those who attempt to take the law into their own hands or disrupt law and order will be dealt with firmly. Likewise, anyone trying to sabotage the elections with unethical demands will face strict government action.”
When asked whether the Awami League, a political party banned from participating in the 13th parliamentary elections, would be allowed to contest, the Press Secretary replied, “Those who belong to the fallen autocratic party have already removed themselves from the elections. There is no way they can participate.”
