The National Defence College (NDC) has graduated 152 participants from its two flagship strategic-level programmes for 2025 — including senior military officers, civil servants and representatives from 18 friendly nations.

This year, 96 participants completed the National Defence Course (NDC), among them 49 officers from the Bangladesh Armed Forces, 18 senior civil servants and 29 international officers, according to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations on Wednesday.

In the Armed Forces War Course (AFWC), a total of 56 officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force graduated.

The college marked the conclusion of both courses with a graduation dinner held on Tuesday at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment.

Lieutenant General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, Commandant of NDC, attended the event as the chief guest.

Lt Gen Haque congratulated the graduates for completing what he described as two of the country’s most demanding strategic-leadership programmes. He also praised the faculty and staff for their commitment to delivering the courses.

Senior course members from the armed forces, civil administration and participating nations spoke at the event, thanking the college for its support and acknowledging the relevance of the programmes in preparing them for higher leadership roles.

Both courses are designed to develop strategic thinking and enhance professional competence in national security, defence planning and civil-military policymaking.
