Two juveniles arrested in connection with the murder of 13-year-old schoolboy Ishayat Shahriar Opratim have been sent to the Child Development Centre (Boys) in Tongi, Gazipur.
Md Emran Khan, superintendent of the centre, confirmed the matter, saying the boys – Mozammel Hossain Fahad, 15, and Kamrul Hasan, 16 – arrived at the centre at around 4pm on Monday.
Earlier, a district court ordered Fahad and Kamrul to be sent to the Child Development Centre, considering their age.
The other two suspects, Saiful Islam Tuhin, 19, and Siam, 19, were sent to Cumilla Central Jail.
Meanwhile, colleagues of Opratim’s mother, Nahida Islam, a professor in the Department of Bangla at Cumilla University, formed a human chain on the campus in the morning, demanding justice and the resignation of the Cumilla superintendent of police (SP).

They placed four demands: completion of the murder trial and execution of the sentence within 60 days; withdrawal of the SP and the officers-in-charge (OCs) of Kotwali and Sadar South police stations; establishment of a police outpost near Cumilla University; and visible steps to improve law and order in Cumilla.
Opratim, a seventh-grade student at Cumilla Border Guard Public School, went missing on Friday.
Police recovered his body the following day from a forest in Lalmai Hills in Sananda village under Bijoypur Union in Sadar Dakshin upazila. The spot was three kilometres from his home.
