3 more children die with measles symptoms

Three more children died with suspected measles in the past 24 hours across the country, raising the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and suspected measles to 1,087 since 15 March.

980 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of suspected cases to 186,813 since 15 March, said a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) press release.

Meanwhile, 84 confirmed measles cases were reported during the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 21,099 since 15 March.

From 15 March to 26 September, a total of 165,155 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals, while 158,576 patients recovered and were discharged during the period.

Three children died of suspected measles in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 986 since 15 March.

No death from confirmed measles was reported in the past 24 hours. Since 15 March, a total of 101 children have died from confirmed measles.
