Farmers and traders from remote hill communities gather at the floating market on Kaptai Lake at Samata Ghat in Rangamati’s Banarupa Bazar, transforming boats into vibrant floating stalls of harvest and trade. From an aerial view, dozens of boats appear laden with seasonal produce, jackfruit, mangoes, pineapples, and vegetables, as buyers weave between vessels exchanging goods beneath the quiet watch of the surrounding hills. The floating market, held twice a week, forms a vital water-based trading network that connects remote hill communities and traders across the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
