Durbar Tarunno Foundation is a well-known youth-led social organisation dedicated to making a positive impact on society through humanitarian services, community development, and educational initiatives. Founded with a vision to empower the youth and serve humanity, the foundation have been actively working on various projects including community service activities, blood donation campaigns and educational support programs.
Durbar Tarunno Foundation was established with a vision to create a platform where youth can actively participate in humanitarian and social development activities.
In 2020, Muhammad Abu Abid founded the Foundation, a youth-led volunteer organisation that quickly rose to national prominence. Among its most acclaimed initiatives is “Amra Mali” (We Are Gardeners) - a campaign that goes beyond tree planting, focusing on nurturing trees and raising environmental awareness among the youth. The movement has united thousands of young people across Bangladesh under a powerful banner of ecological and social consciousness.
The Foundation has also launched numerous humanitarian and creative ventures, including “Free Eid Shopping”, “Mass Mosquito Control and Eradication Program”, “Food for All”, “Warm Meals in Winter”, “Amra Manush” (an inclusive initiative), “Celebrating Eid at an old age home”, “Different Kind of Valentine’s Day”, “Pitha Festival”, “Rich or Poor, We Are One”, “Over 200 orphan children visit Cox’s Bazar”, “Sharing Smiles on Eid” ,“Bokhshish Mela” (Festival of Gratitude) and “Alternative New Year Celebrations”. Each project has been a unique blend of art, humanity, and social service, adding a new dimension to community engagement under Abid’s visionary leadership.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the Foundation is that — although it has over 30,000 listed general members, the organization does not collect any membership fees, nor does it accept donations from the general public.
Instead, every social initiative or event begins with the preparation of a written project proposal. This proposal clearly outlines the purpose of the project, the planned activities, and the estimated total cost in detail. Afterwards, the proposal is sent to a select group of potential donors. The person who first agrees to fully fund the project single-handedly is designated as the chief guest of that particular program or event. In this way, the donor becomes not only a sponsor but also an honored guest. This process creates a sense of transparency and pride in giving, while also ensuring accountability from the organization’s side.
Within 24 hours of completing the event or project, the foundation sends the donor a comprehensive financial report in Bangla PDF format, detailing every expenditure. Even more astonishing is that if any portion of the allocated funds remains unused, it is returned to the donor — a truly rare practice in today’s world.
Because of this transparent system, despite having completed over a hundred projects, not a single donor has ever expressed doubt about the integrity of the Durbar Tarunno Foundation.
The founder of Durbar Tarunno Foundation & current Chairman Muhammad Abu Abid believes the greatest reward of his life is the love of the people. He says, "we believe every step towards kindness shapes a better tomorrow. From helping the underprivileged to empowering youth and responding in times of crisis, our mission is driven by unity, compassion, and action. This journey is not mine alone — it belongs to every volunteer, donor, and supporter who stands with us. United, we are building hope, changing lives, and proving that no dream is too big when hearts unite."
Every dawn in Bangladesh brings new dreams to countless young minds. But Durbar Tarunno Foundation stands apart - for it is shown that one young man can move an entire nation and become a symbol of wonder and hope. Across Bangladesh, countless social organizations continue their work quietly, dedicating themselves to community service and social development. Among them, the Durbar Tarunno Foundation has emerged as a powerful source of inspiration. Rising from humble beginnings, it has now become one of the most prominent and widely admired social organizations in the country - a true example of how determination and dedication can turn vision into impact.
