Actress Deepa Khandakar is set to embark on a new journey in her career as she plans to make her directorial debut next year.

Having completed 28 years in the acting industry, Deepa Khandakar has experienced several turning points in her career.

Most recently, she earned widespread popularity for her portrayal of Fatema Fupu in the television serial “Eta Amaderi Golpo”, directed by Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz. Her performance became a sensation on social media, with many viewers affectionately dubbing her the “National Fupu”.

Speaking on the popular podcast “Behind the Fame with RRK”, Deepa Khandakar revealed her plans to step behind the camera. Hosted by Rumman Rashid Khan, the special episode will air simultaneously on Maasranga Television and Radio Din Raat 93.6 FM at 9pm on Saturday.

Reflecting on her extensive acting experience, Deepa Khandakar said she has recently been considering directing two or three television dramas. She is seriously contemplating the idea and hopes to make her debut as a director in the new year, provided everything falls into place.

Meanwhile, Deepa has recently joined another serial, “Firey Aashar Golpo”, directed by Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz.

She initially expected to play the character now portrayed by actress Rozi Siddiqui. However, after Sumaiya Shimu withdrew from another role at the last moment due to an eye-related health issue, Deepa Khandakar stepped in at the director's request and prepared for the new character within just two hours.
