Farooki dismisses divorce rumours, focuses on new projects

Filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has dismissed rumours of a rift in his marriage to actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha, describing reports about their alleged separation as false news.
Reports in several media outlets have recently fuelled speculation about the couple’s relationship and claims that they have been living separately.
Responding to the rumours, Farooki said he and Tisha would not comment on the matter, arguing that doing so would only give further attention to the claims.
“Various propaganda and false news about me started circulating much earlier. Now it has turned into personal attacks. False news does not make something true. Talking about these matters would only encourage them further. So neither Tisha nor I want to comment on this. Instead, I am working on new projects, so let’s talk about those,” he said.
The filmmaker also shared updates on his recent and upcoming work.
Farooki said he travelled to South Korea on 10 October at the invitation of the Busan International Film Festival, where he delivered a speech on film. Before leaving for Busan, he completed work on an advertisement.
He returned to Bangladesh on 17 October and began working on another advertisement. He has also completed the story of one film and started developing a new one.
“I am currently busy with three advertisements — one for a healthcare company and the other two for building materials. The shooting of one has been completed. It was filmed in Dhaka, Mymensingh and South Korea,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tisha has also been keeping busy with her professional work amid the speculation surrounding her personal life.
She recently launched a production company named ‘Fullscreen’. On 28 September, a drama starring Arsh Khan and Priyanti Urbi was released on the company’s YouTube channel.
Farooki said Tisha was in discussions to act in a new international film, but declined to disclose further details. An official announcement would be made once everything was finalised, he added.
Farooki and Tisha married on 16 July 2010 after a five-year relationship that began when they met through their work in the entertainment industry.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Ilham Nusrat Farooki, in 2022.
