TV channels line up special programmes for Bijaya Dashami

Marking Bijaya Dashami, the final day of Sharadiya Durga Puja, one of the biggest religious festivals of the Hindu community, television channels across Bangladesh have arranged special programmes today. The festive line-up features dramas, telefilms, musical performances, films and other entertaining shows.

Bangladesh Television (BTV) will air a special programme titled “Anjali Laho, Anjali” at 10:00pm. Combining drama, dance and music, the programme will portray the mythological story of Goddess Durga’s arrival and her triumph over the demon Mahishasura, symbolising the victory of good over evil.

Written by Niranjan Adhikari, the programme will be hosted by Jaya Saha and Abhijit.

Channel i will broadcast the special telefilm “Tumi Jokhon Ele” at 3:05pm. Starring Yash Rohan and Totini in the lead roles, the telefilm has been written by Mezbahuddin Sumon and directed by S R Majumdar. The cast also includes Imtiaz Barman, Sumon Patwary, Mehzabin Noor and others.

Boishakhi Television has arranged a diverse line-up of programmes to celebrate the occasion. The channel will air the patriotic song “Jonmobhumi” at 7:45am, along with popular music videos themed around Durga Puja. Renowned singer Badsha Bulbul will appear in a morning musical segment at 8:20am.

At 10:00pm, the channel will broadcast a special Durga Puja drama titled “Barir Pashe Shoshur Bari”. Written and directed by Mohin Khan, the drama stars Niloy Alamgir, Tasnuva Tisha and others.

The channel will also screen two popular films. “Nawab”, starring Shakib Khan and Subhashree, will be aired at 10:00am, while “Poramon-2”, featuring Siam Ahmed and Puja Cherry, will be broadcast at 2:30pm.

Deepto TV will entertain viewers with two popular Bangla films. “Shurongo”, starring Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza, will be aired at 10:15am, followed by the Shakib Khan-starrer “Tandob” at 2:30pm.

Maasranga Television will broadcast a special Durga Puja drama titled “Radhika”. Directed by Farhad Alam, the drama features Mihi Ahsan, Fazlul Rahman Babu and others in prominent roles.

Duronto TV has also arranged several special programmes for the festival. Its Durga Puja special drama “Hoi Hoi Halla” will be aired at 1:30pm and 9:30pm. Directed by Partha Pratim Haldar, the drama features Kazi Afra Evilina, Ishrak Turjo, Samadrita Prohor, Ayaz Mahmud, Raida Riju and Kawsar Bin Mamun, alongside veteran actors Abul Hayat, Shahanaz Khushi and others.

The channel will also air a special episode of the cooking show “Banai Mojar Khabar Ma Baba Ar Ami”, in which a child teams up with a parent to prepare delicious festive dishes while sharing amusing stories. The episode will feature Purna Anandita and her mother. It will be broadcast at 1:00pm and 7:00pm.

Another special programme, “Shubho Bijoya”, will feature renowned reciter Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay sharing delightful Puja-related stories with child artistes Bornomala, Kotha and Samriddho. The programme will be aired at 12:00pm.
