Mithun Chakra teams up with Pantha Kanai, Animesh Roy for ‘Shibshambhu’

Renowned instrumentalist and singer Mithun Chakra is set to release his new song, “Shibshambhu,” featuring popular artistes Pantha Kanai and Animesh Roy. The track will soon be available on Mithun’s official YouTube channel.

Mithun has penned the lyrics, composed the melody, arranged the music and lent his voice to the song. Sohag Chakraborty produced the music, while HM Sohel directed the music video, featuring all three artistes.

Speaking about the song, Mithun said, “Shibshambhu is very close to my heart. Philosophically, ‘Shib’ (Shiva) signifies nothingness, while ‘Shambhu’ refers to the self-manifested one. The song is dedicated to that Divine Being. Inspired by a hymn composed by Sage Ved Vyasa, it is more than just a song; it is a realisation.”

Expressing gratitude to his collaborators, he said, “Pantha Kanai-da and Animesh Roy have sung beautifully. I am grateful to them for joining me. The video has also turned out wonderfully, and I hope everyone enjoys it.”

Widely recognised for accompanying leading artistes as an instrumentalist, Mithun has also carved a niche for himself as a vocalist. His 2016 release “Swapno Jabe Bari 2” earned widespread appreciation, followed by several original songs.

He made his playback singing debut with “Bisarjoner Betha” in Mishuk Moni’s film “Deyaler Desh”. He has also recorded a song for Raihan Rafi’s film “Pressure Cooker”.
