The movie “Agun” starring Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan, which was stuck for various reasons for seven long years, is finally moving towards release.

The film, which began production in 2019, had generated considerable curiosity among audiences. According to the makers, if everything goes as planned, Agun is expected to hit theatres during the upcoming Durga Puja.

“The remaining work on the film is now in its final stages. I want Agun to be released during Durga Puja, and we are moving forward with that goal,” director Badiul Alam Khokon told the media.

The journey of “Agun” began on 5 August 2019, when shooting commenced with much fanfare. However, after the completion of the second phase of filming in October that year, production came to an abrupt halt. The project remained suspended for an extended period due to various complications and scheduling conflicts.

Filming resumed in 2022, with nearly 80% of the work completed during that phase. The remaining portions were subsequently shot, but the film later became entangled in different stages of post-production, delaying its release further.

As a result, despite years of anticipation from fans, Agun could not make its way to the big screen until now.

Produced by Desh Bangla Multimedia, Agun stars Shakib Khan alongside Zahara Mitu in the lead roles. The cast also includes Misha Sawdagor, Shuchorita, Afzal Sharif and Rebecca in pivotal roles.
