Popular streaming platform Capital Drama is set to release its new web film “First Love”. Based on a story by Hasib Hossain Rakhi, the film blends pure romance with the warmth of family bonds, friendship, and nostalgic memories of student life.

The project is directed by Rakhi himself. However, the biggest curiosity surrounded the identity of the film’s new heroine.

Earlier, the production company hinted that the lead actress was a familiar face whose name had sparked huge interest among the audience. They also said that viewers would have to wait for the official announcement.

That wait ended on Sunday night at a press conference in the capital’s Banani, where Capital Drama officially introduced the heroine: showbiz personality, fashion influencer, model, and Miss World Bangladesh 2023-Shammi Islam Nila.

Sharing her feelings after signing her first major acting project, Nila said, “Today is a special day for me. When I first read the story of ‘First Love’, I connected with it deeply. I believe those who watch it will also relate to different moments from their own lives. I wanted to be part of a project that stays in people’s minds. The audience wants quality work, and they will get something beautiful. I’m very optimistic.”

Tawsif Mahbub plays the central role. He said, “First Love is my second project with Hasib Hossain Rakhi and my fourth with Capital Drama. I’m very excited, especially because our heroine is making her debut through this web film. That’s also why the story is titled first love. I hope the audience enjoys it.”

Director Hasib Hossain Rakhi added, “First Love marks a new journey for me. Even in a romantic narrative, we have woven in the journeys of family, friendship, love, and student life. I hope viewers will enjoy experiencing that.”

Producer Anwarul Alam Sajal confirmed that the web film will be released on 27 November, adding that the audience “will get a touch of cinematic feel” from the production.
