Renowned Austrian accordionist Jakob Steinkellner enthralled the audience at a musical evening titled “Melody of Accordion” at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital on Monday.

The event was organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, in association with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Shilpakala Academy Director General Rezauddin Ahmed Stalin was present at the event.

The internationally acclaimed musician delivered a captivating repertoire, featuring both classical pieces and his own compositions. His expressive performance and technical mastery of the accordion drew repeated rounds of applause from the audience, transforming the evening into a memorable celebration of international music and cultural exchange.

Born in Linz in 1995, Jakob Steinkellner has been passionate about music since the age of 6. At the age of 14, he passed the entrance exam for the “Basic Artistic Studies” in accordion at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, which he continued with his studies. At the same time, he began his journey on the Styrian accordion.

Between 2023 and 2025, Steinkellner has scheduled 200 concerts in 30 countries around the globe including Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Vietnam, Japan, the USA, and Canada.
