Rohan Raj is one of the prominent lyricists and composers of contemporary Bangladeshi music. Although he occasionally lends his own voice to songs, he finds a different kind of fulfilment when the songs he writes and composes are brought to life by other artistes.

The hugely popular song “Manush Boroi Sarthopor”, written and composed by Rohan Raj and performed by Sukumar Baul, has garnered more than 140 million views on YouTube since its release in 2022. While Sukumar Baul has remained in the spotlight for the song, Rohan Raj, the creative force behind it, has quietly continued his work behind the scenes.

Among his other popular compositions are “Amar Sonar Moina Pakhi,” “Amar Mayay Poira Jaiba,” “Tomayi Chhere,” “Emon Ekta Raat Dao Allah,” “Mone Mone Milegechhe Mon,” “Barir Pashe Bondhur Bari,” “Bondhure Tor Premanale” and “Mone Boro Jaala.”

Although Rohan Raj can sing, his primary passion lies in songwriting and composition. He has composed more than 700 songs so far. Many noted artistes, including Sabina Yasmin, Monir Khan, Asif Akbar, Imran, FA Suman, Kazi Shuvo and Mahtim, have lent their voices to songs written and composed by him.

Speaking about his aspirations as a singer, Rohan Raj said, “It is not just a dream; it is a big dream. I want to sing regularly. I can feel that people listen to the songs I have written and composed, and they love my songs as well. I want to enrich Bengali music in my own style, create my own signature and leave a lasting mark on Bengali songs.”

Rohan Raj’s full name is Hedaetul Islam Raju. He began his musical journey during the audio era with his first album, “Bondhu Tumi Kemon Aachho.”

Born on 28 November 1992, Rohan Raj has gradually established himself as a prolific lyricist and composer, creating songs that continue to resonate with listeners across generations.
