Sojib Shan wins hearts with debut drama song ‘Mon Bari’

Singer Sojib Shan has won the hearts of listeners with his original songs, several of which have garnered millions of views. Now, for the first time, he is receiving widespread praise for lending his voice to a drama song.

“Mon Bari”, released on CMV’s YouTube channel on 21 August, is featured in the drama “Moner Moto Mon”, directed by Imraul Rafat. The song has already received a positive response from the audience.

The drama’s lead artistes, Yash Rohan and Naznin Niha, appear in the visuals of “Mon Bari”. Alongside Sojib Shan’s vocals, their performances have also been praised by viewers. Rohan Raj wrote the lyrics and composed the tune and music.

Talking about the song, Sojib Shan said, “I have sung around 200 original songs, many of which have received millions of views. However, ‘Mon Bari’ is my first drama song. I am truly emotional and excited by the response following its release. I am grateful to everyone involved in the project, especially Rohan Raj bhai.”

Sojib Shan, the son of Bir Shingzuri of Ghior in Manikganj, began his musical journey under the guidance of Ustad Imran Safi. More than 40 of his songs, including “Mon Mille Mela”, “Moner Kotha Koiyo Gopone” and “Sona Dana Taka Kori”, have crossed the million-view mark on YouTube.

Although financial difficulties prevented him from completing his honours degree, Sojib Shan remained committed to music. Through his dedication and hard work, he has established himself as one of the popular singers of his generation.
