Actress Azmeri Haque Badhan has shared an emotional tribute marking the memory of the student-led July 2024 movement, reflecting on the fear, courage, and unity that defined the historic days. Through a heartfelt Facebook post, the actress also paid homage to the students whose determination, she said, awakened an entire nation.

On her verified Facebook page, Badhan posted a photograph of herself standing at the Shaheed Minar on 3 August 2024, when she joined students and masses in expressing solidarity during the movement. Revisiting the image a year later, she described it as a powerful reminder of a time that transformed countless lives.

“This photo bears the weight of a time that changed us forever,” she wrote. “No one who witnessed those days from a distance--from behind a window, a television screen, or the comfort of a sofa--could truly understand what it meant to stand on the streets. The fear was real. The uncertainty was real. But so was the courage. And above all, so was the unity.”

Highlighting the pivotal role of the students, Badhan praised their resilience and unwavering spirit, saying they inspired people across the country to stand together despite uncertainty.

“I will forever salute the students,” she wrote. “They awakened a nation, brought strangers together, and reminded us that hope can be stronger than fear.”

Recalling the day the photograph was taken, Badhan said she stood at the Shaheed Minar on 3 August 2024, to express solidarity with the people of Bangladesh and the students leading the movement. Looking back, she said the image represents far more than a frozen moment in time.

“Looking at this photograph today, I don’t just see a moment frozen in time--I hear the voices, feel the heartbeat of the streets, and remember the belief that, together, we could change the course of history,” she added.

Since the post was published, it has drawn widespread attention from fans and well-wishers, many of whom shared their own memories of the movement.

Badhan’s message has once again highlighted the courage, unity, and enduring legacy of the students who played a defining role during the July uprising.
