Iran will never attack Makkah or Madina: Iranian envoy

Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bangladesh is Dr Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi on Wednesday said his country will never attack Makkah and Madina as the two holy cities house significant Muslim religious establishments.

"Our people are killed in our own country as the US and Israel attacked us. We would not have attacked any country in the Middle East had there not been US military bases in them. We will never attack Makkah and Madina as these two cities host important Muslim establishments," he said while briefing reporters at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the capital regarding the latest situation of his country amid the US-Iran war.

The Iranian envoy expressed gratitude to the people of Bangladesh for supporting his country when it faced foreign invasion.
