The bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his Japanese counterpart Sanae Takaichi was fruitful, said Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
Briefing reporters at the Bangladesh Embassy in
Tokyo on Tuesday night, Rumon said the Bangladesh premier attended an official

facilities.
He said Tarique Rahman visited different industrial

The prime minister is visiting Japan with a focus on
Bangladesh’s development, Rumon said, adding that the government is working to
make the country’s economy and institutions more efficient while creating new

“The main purpose of visiting various industrial
establishments and facilities in Japan is to learn about their operations and
experience and assess how these can be utilised for Bangladesh’s development,”
he said.
Rumon added that the prime minister was undertaking
various initiatives to ensure the welfare and development of the people, and
the programmes during his Japan visit had been designed to expand Bangladesh’s

the press conference.
