Foreign Minister and President of the 81st UN General
Assembly, Khalilur Rahman, has called on all concerned to prioritise protecting
people’s rights through the global body – rather than the number of resolutions adopted
and meetings held.
He also called for keeping people instead of process at the
centre of UN’s work and for matching resources with commitments.
In short, he called for making commitments actually materialise,
and for improving people’s lives through work at UN, according to a post
published on Khalilur’s official “X” account.
He made the remarks addressing the Third Committee on
social, humanitarian and cultural matters.
