Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanashyam Bhandari on Thursday highlighted
the “resilience” of Nepal’s tourism industry in the wake of recent flash floods
in Nepal.
He was speaking as a special guest at the inaugural ceremony
of the 13th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF), being held in Dhaka from 17–19 September.
Ambassador Bhandari emphasized that Nepal is open to
tourists and that its tourism industry remains largely operational despite the
devastating landslide and floods. He encouraged visitors to continue travelling
to Nepal.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening tourism
cooperation and promoting greater people-to-people exchanges between Nepal and
Bangladesh.
A 10-member delegation comprising representatives from Nepali tour operators and travel agencies is participating in the 13th ATF.
