Switzerland seeks to strengthen Dhaka ties following presidential polls

Switzerland has congratulated BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on being elected as the 23rd President of Bangladesh, and said it looks to further strengthen bilateral ties under the new leadership in Dhaka.

“The Embassy of Switzerland congratulates Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh,” the Swiss Embassy in Dhaka said in a Facebook post on Thursday.

“As a longstanding partner, we look forward to further strengthening the bilateral relations between Switzerland and Bangladesh,” it added in the post.
